The Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has announced the postponement of the examination scheduled for 12 October, which was meant for technical posts in the Agriculture Department. This decision comes amid growing concerns regarding a possible paper leak linked to the exam. As per UKSSSC Chairman GS Martolia, the new exam date will be communicated to candidates once the issue has been addressed.The original examination was set to take place for technical roles within the Agriculture Department, affecting approximately 600 candidates vying for 20-25 positions. However, no admit cards were issued, and UKSSSC clarified that the examination would not proceed on the previously scheduled date.Paper leak allegations prompt postponementThe postponement follows reports of a suspected paper leak, which has prompted authorities to act swiftly to ensure the fairness of the examination process. The UKSSSC, which has been under scrutiny for various administrative matters, has yet to clarify whether the alleged leak is substantiated. As reported by PTI, the commission has stressed its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of its recruitment procedures.Martolia, addressing the issue, assured that the commission is taking all necessary measures to resolve the situation. “We are fully committed to providing a transparent and fair examination process,” he said. He also confirmed that the commission has suspended any further preparations for the exam, pending an internal investigation.Postponed exams and further delaysIn addition to the 12 October exam, UKSSSC had earlier postponed the examination for the cooperative inspector class II and assistant development officer (cooperative) positions. Originally scheduled for 5 October, the exams were delayed due to requests from candidates and to allow the commission to strengthen its preparations.The postponement has raised concerns about the potential backlog of recruitment examinations, with candidates eager for updates on the new schedules. The commission has assured the public that the dates for all postponed exams will be announced as soon as possible.Candidates and stakeholders are advised to remain alert for further announcements from the commission in the coming days. The UKSSSC is expected to issue a revised schedule for both the Agriculture Department and cooperative sector exams once its internal reviews are complete.As quoted by the PTI, Martolia assured, “We will release a fresh schedule after carefully reviewing all necessary aspects of the exams.”The ongoing investigations are likely to delay the release of further details, but the commission has pledged to restore confidence in its recruitment processes as soon as the situation is resolved.
